Martinia brought with her, the mining interests left to her by her father.  Her knowledge of the operations was extensive, and the newly companioned couple began a mining empire soon to be known throughout the land.  With the death of Martinia, the reins of the business were given to their oldest child, Makayla, whose aptitude for business, geology, and yes, mythology, was one of their greatest asset. Monroe Mining is owned jointly by Makayla, Conner, Marte, Helena & Morgan Monroe     As the eldest child and the one with the most experience with the business after Makayla, Conner was named Chief Executive Officer for Monroe Mining. He holds the senior chair on the board and controlling interest in the main Monroe Mines. While he does hold the authority to make changes in the leadership of the company he is a firm believer in not fixing something that isn't broke. With the success of the mining operations and the wealth of gems and gold taken from the mines several expansion projects have been started and financed. Including his sister Makaylas personal mining operation, the rebuilding of the Monroe Training Academy for Warriors, several partnerships with other merchants in business and the Darkstar Shipping Company, home of the Silk Road Convey. As a man of the Warriors Caste Conner delegates a lot of the office duties to his sisters Makayla and Marte. The joint effort of the Monroe siblings ensures that the mines will be still in operation until the next generation of Monroes is ready to take the helm.  In her capable hands, the company grew.  In addition to the diamond, silver, and  gold deposits in the foothills of Ar and higher regions of the Voltai, she discovered diamond deposits on the uninhabited coastline of the Northern reaches of the Schendi Jungle, emerald, ruby and sapphire deposits in the jungle itself. Her greatest discovery was the Monroe Star Mine deep in the lower regions of the Voltai Mountains.  The expedition was personally financed and based on her calculations derived from mythological scrolls. The mine, owned by Makayla herself, is a subsidiary of Monroe Mining.  It proved to be the most productive of all, and the site of the largest diamond ever found.. The younger sister of Conner & Mickey, intrigued with the creations and intricate designs of the metal workers and gem cutters, Marte came by her position in the company with her new ideas for expanding the business with a retail shop. Using the company sources, the shop would specialize in one of a kind and made to order pieces.
